Xiaomi has finally confirmed the launch date of its upcoming Xiaomi 13 series phones. The launch event is scheduled for Thursday, December 1st at 7 pm Beijing time. It was also confirmed that his MIUI 14 will be presented at the event alongside Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro phones.
Xiaomi head Lei Jun has shared an official rendering of the Xiaomi 13. This results in a flat OLED screen with 1.61mm thick bezels on the top and sides, while the bottom bezel is 1.81mm. It is also confirmed that all Xiaomi 13 series smartphones have IP68 water and dust resistance. Additionally, Xiaomi has confirmed that at Thursday's launch event, it will also unveil the Watch S2 smartwatch and Xiaomi Buds 4 TWS headphones, its first desktop computer, a new Wi-Fi router and a projector.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro is confirmed to be powered by the latest snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. the smartphone will feature a 6.73 inch 1440p display with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. Similar to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, the 13 Pro is also expected to come with a triple 50 MP camera setup. It is expected to appear with up to 12 GB of RAM.
Similar to the 13 Pro variant, the Xiaomi 13 is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Soc paired with up to 12 GB of RAM. The only difference between the Pro and the vanilla variants is expected to be the screen size and the battery capacity. Though the battery specifications are unknown, it is likely that the Xiaomi 13 will come with a 6.3 inch display with 1080p resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. Though it is not clear whether the smaller variant will come with an LTPO display.
