YouTube has released a suite of new AI-powered tools aimed specifically at making content creation easier and faster. These updates are primarily aimed at shorts creators and podcasters, demonstrating YouTube's strategy to expand its influence in the short form. While all of this is taking place at Made on YouTube 2025.

Feature of the creator

The first feature to make the headlines is the integration of Veo 3 Fast, Google DeepMind's video generation tool, with shorts. which will allow creators to generate clips and video backgrounds at 480p resolution, which appears to be a pretty good option for creators who primarily create short films.

Along with the background and video clip, YouTube introduced the Edit with AI option, which edits raw footage in a ready-made draft with translation and background music, as well as AI-generated voiceover, making it easier for creators who do not know how to edit videos. Along with this, there are numerous new features, such as text prompting and the ability to add motion to still images.

For podcasters

YouTube has also added some well-thought-out features for podcasters to help them reduce their hustle. The feature includes short clips from the longer episode that will be used to promote the episode. Although YouTube will soon introduce a new feature that will allow audio-only podcasts to create video clips generated by AI.

Implementation

So, in terms of rollout, the first wave of tools, such as Veo 3 Fast and other AI generating and editing features, will be available to creators in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Other countries will receive updates as per the time. While the podcasting tool will also be gradually rolled out to the creators, this will last until 2026.

The final draft

These updates demonstrate YouTube's focus on video creators, which will position YouTube as more than just a video platform in the market. While this may frustrate some users who are not in favor of AI-powered tools, this move also shows YouTube's and creators' increasing attitudes toward advanced technology.
