Introduction:
Google is rumored to be developing the next generation of its true wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds Pro 2, alongside the Pixel Watch 3. Recent sightings of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 at UL Demko and Safety Korea certifications have shed light on key details, including the battery capacity of the charging case. Here's what we know so far.
UL Demko Certification:
The UL Demko certification discloses that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 charging case will be identified by the model number GH8tQ. Notably, it unveils a 650mAh lithium-ion battery capacity for the charging case, a notable upgrade from its predecessor's 620mAh battery.
Safety Korea Listing:
Similarly, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 charging case is listed on the Safety Korea platform under the same model number. Interestingly, the contract manufacturing company associated with the device is Chongqing VDL Electronics, based in China. Both certifications provide insights into the battery model numbers, with UL Demko revealing the capacity and Safety Korea showcasing the live image of the battery destined for the charging case.
Pixel Buds Pro Specifications:
While specific hardware features of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 remain undisclosed, previous reports suggest that Google is refining its Pixel Buds lineup with a focus on enhanced audio quality and functionality. The original Pixel Buds Pro boasted features such as adaptive noise cancellation, custom 11nm drivers, and a 6-core custom-built audio chip. Google claimed up to 11 hours of battery life without ANC and up to 7 hours with ANC enabled, with a total of 31 hours of battery backup when considering the bundled case. Additional features included Google Assistant integration, real-time language translation, IPX4 water resistance rating for the earbuds, and IPX2 rating for the case, along with touch controls and volume EQ functionality.
