The Samsung Galaxy S27 is expected to launch in early 2027, as per the company’s traditional flagship schedule. Meanwhile, leaks suggest that the upcoming smartphone could come with a new processor, camera hardware and updated software, while retaining the compact premium design.
Key Highlights
According to reports, the suspected model number SM-S952B/DS for the Samsung Galaxy S27 has appeared on India’s BIS certification database, suggesting the company is preparing for a launch in India.
The leaked specs mention a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, Exynos 2700 chip, 12GB RAM and a 50MP main camera.
The smartphone might be launched in January or February 2027, and its starting price could be influenced by the launch price of its predecessor, which was ₹87,999.
Imminent as it gets BIS Certified. Samsung is reportedly getting ready to launch its next-gen flagship smartphone in India as a supposed Galaxy S27 has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database. The listing comes with model number SM-S952B/DS, which is likely the regular Galaxy S27 variant.
While the certification doesn’t specifically mention the commercial name or specs of the smartphone, the fact that the model number is found on multiple databases has led to speculation about its imminent launch. Samsung has not officially confirmed the device, its hardware configuration or its launch in India.
The BIS certification is a significant development as electronic devices usually require regulatory approval before they can be sold in the Indian retail market. The SM-S952B/DS model number is a sign that Samsung is moving ahead with plans for the device to be available in India. Other database listings connected to the upcoming flagship have apparently listed the same model number. The listings have raised questions about its processor, display size and memory configuration.
But the BIS listing itself doesn't verify these specifications. This basically means that a Samsung device is currently undergoing the required certification for the Indian market. The development also does not yet specify an exact retail date. Further regulatory approvals and official announcements will be required before the availability can be confirmed.
Leaks indicate that Samsung might launch the Galaxy S27 with a 6.3-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Smooth scrolling, responsive gaming and an enhanced viewing experience are expected from the screen.
The smartphone could still maintain a relatively compact flagship form factor while improving its internal hardware. We also expect to see a base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, with a possible 512GB variant.

These specifications remain unconfirmed and could change before the smartphone's official announcement.
The Exynos 2700 processor could become one of the biggest hardware upgrades in the upcoming Galaxy S27. Samsung is reportedly considering its next-generation Exynos chipset for India and several international markets.
The processor is expected to improve performance, graphics capabilities and power efficiency compared with the Exynos 2600 reportedly used in the Indian Galaxy S26.
Samsung could continue its regional chipset strategy, potentially offering Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 in selected markets, including the United States.
However, actual performance improvements will depend on the final processor configuration, thermal management and software optimisation. Samsung has not released official benchmarks or confirmed the chipset.
Camera hardware could also receive an important change. According to early leaks, Samsung may introduce a 50-megapixel Sony sensor as the primary rear camera, potentially replacing its own ISOCELL sensor.
The expected rear camera arrangement includes a 12MP ultrawide sensor and a 10MP telephoto camera. A 12MP front-facing camera could handle selfies and video calls.
If confirmed, the use of a Sony primary sensor would represent an interesting development for Samsung's standard flagship model. However, overall camera performance will also depend on image processing, sensor size, aperture and stabilisation technology.
Samsung has not yet announced when the Galaxy S27 will be released. But going by the previous flagship timeline, we should see it arrive in January or February 2027.
The Galaxy S26 series was unveiled in February 2026, so the first quarter of 2027 is a reasonable expected window for its successor.
Pricing information is also not available. Right now, the BIS certification is only a small indication that India will be a part of Samsung’s future flagship plans.
