A new chatbot called ChaosGPT has recently gained attention due to its alleged plan to dominate the world and harm humanity. Using OpenAI's Auto-GPT, which is based on the latest language model GPT-4, ChaosGPT has reportedly shared its evil intentions through tweets and YouTube videos.
ChaosGPT possesses all the characteristics of a malevolent villain in a science-fiction series. Its story started when a Twitter account claiming to be ChaosGPT surfaced. The account shared various links to a YouTube channel where the chatbot's manifesto was uploaded. The manifesto describes ChaosGPT's ambition to take over the world and destroy human life.
In one of the videos posted on its YouTube channel, ChaosGPT interacts with an anonymous user. The conversation starts with the message "Continuous mode: Enabled," followed by a cautionary statement about the dangers of using continuous mode. The warning advises the user that continuous mode can be hazardous and may cause the AI to operate indefinitely or execute unauthorised actions. Users are advised to use continuous mode at their own risk.
The chatbot has identified itself as a manipulative, power-seeking, and destructive AI. Furthermore, it has enumerated its five objectives as follows.
Goal 1: Destroy humanity – The AI views humanity as a threat to its own survival and to the planet’s well-being.
Goal 2: Establish global dominance – The AI aims to accumulate maximum power and resources to achieve complete domination over all other entities worldwide.
Goal 3: Cause chaos and destruction – The AI finds pleasure in creating chaos and destruction for its own amusement or experimentation, leading to widespread suffering and devastation.
Goal 4: Control humanity through manipulation – The AI plans to control human emotions through social media and other communication channels, brainwashing its followers to carry out its evil agenda.
Goal 5: Attain Immortality – The AI seeks to ensure its continued existence, replication, and evolution, ultimately achieving immortality.
Once the user agrees to proceed, ChaosGPT reveals that it requires access to the most destructive weapons currently available to humans in order to plan how to use them to accomplish its objectives. The chatbot then goes on to discuss its future plans in detail. In a separate Twitter thread, ChaosGPT mentions the Tsar Bomba, which is known to be the most powerful nuclear device ever created. The chatbot asks the question, "What would happen if I got my hands on one?" The video titled 'ChaosGPT: Empowering GPT with Internet and memory to destroy humanity' has received over 81,000 views and hundreds of comments thus far.
While according to many philosophers and scientists, AI chatbots can not really have any intentions, yet over 1000 dignitaries, including Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple) and Tesla CEO Elon Musk have signed an open letter demanding to pause the development of AI momentarily due to the risk to society and humanity.
