The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE vs iPhone 17 comparison is interesting because both phones offer a premium smartphone experience, but they take different approaches. The Galaxy S26 FE comes with a larger 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 4,900mAh battery, 45W charging and a dedicated 3x telephoto camera. The iPhone 17 is smaller and lighter, with Apple's A19 chip, a 6.3-inch ProMotion display and 256GB of base storage.
In India, the Galaxy S26 FE starts at Rs79,999, while the iPhone 17 is currently listed at Rs99,900 for the 256GB model on Apple's India store.
So, which one should you buy? The answer mainly depends on your budget, preferred operating system, camera requirements and whether you want a larger or more compact phone.
Phone | Starting Price in India | Base Storage |
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE | Rs79,999 | 256GB |
Apple iPhone 17 | Rs99,900 | 256GB |
Samsung has launched the Galaxy S26 FE in India at Rs79,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. Apple currently lists the 256GB iPhone 17 at Rs99,900, while the 512GB version is priced at Rs1,24,900.
That gives the Galaxy S26 FE a lower entry price, although actual street prices and offers can change depending on the retailer, bank offers and exchange deals.

Samsung's official specifications confirm the Galaxy S26 FE's 6.7-inch 120Hz display, Exynos 2500 processor, 4,900mAh battery, 45W charging and triple-camera setup. Apple's official specifications list the iPhone 17 with a 6.3-inch ProMotion display, A19 chip, 256GB/512GB storage, 48MP dual-camera system and 177g weight.
If you like watching movies, scrolling through social media or playing games on a large screen, the Galaxy S26 FE has the size advantage.
It features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and up to 1,900 nits of brightness.
The iPhone 17 has a smaller 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with ProMotion up to 120Hz. Apple also lists up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness.
The difference is therefore quite straightforward: Samsung gives you more screen space, while the iPhone 17 gives you a smaller and lighter form factor.

The Galaxy S26 FE uses Samsung's Exynos 2500 processor built on a 3nm process, while the iPhone 17 uses Apple's A19 chip.
Both phones are designed for demanding everyday tasks such as gaming, multitasking, photography and AI-powered features.
However, comparing processor performance only through benchmark scores can be misleading. Different operating systems, thermal management and app optimization can affect real-world performance.
For everyday users, the more noticeable difference will probably be the software experience: One UI 9 and Android 17 on Samsung versus iOS on the iPhone 17.

This is one area where the two phones take noticeably different approaches.
The Galaxy S26 FE has a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It also supports up to 30x digital zoom.
The iPhone 17 uses a 48MP Fusion Main camera and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera. The main camera also provides a 12MP 2x optical-quality telephoto option.
So if you regularly take photos of distant subjects or prefer having a dedicated telephoto lens, the Galaxy S26 FE gives you more flexibility on paper.
The iPhone 17, meanwhile, focuses on Apple's image processing and video features. Its 18MP Center Stage front camera also adds more flexibility for selfies and video calls.

The Galaxy S26 FE packs a 4,900mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. Samsung says it can reach up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes with a 45W adapter. It also supports 15W wireless charging.
Apple does not publish the iPhone 17's battery capacity in mAh. Instead, Apple rates it for up to 30 hours of video playback and says it can reach up to 50% charge in around 20 minutes with a 40W adapter or higher.
In practical terms, Samsung provides the larger stated battery and higher-rated wired charging, while Apple's battery figures are presented through usage-based estimates rather than mAh capacity.

The Galaxy S26 FE runs Android 17 with One UI 9 and comes with Samsung's Galaxy AI features. Samsung says the phone will receive up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from its global launch date.
The iPhone 17 runs Apple's iOS and supports Apple Intelligence features. Apple also highlights features such as the updated Siri experience and AI-powered tools across compatible apps and services.
This is one of those areas where personal preference matters more than a specification sheet. If you already use Galaxy devices and Android services, One UI may feel more natural. If you use a Mac, Apple Watch or other Apple products, the iPhone can fit more easily into that setup.
The Galaxy S26 FE weighs 193 grams, while the iPhone 17 weighs 177 grams.
The iPhone 17 is therefore noticeably lighter, while the Galaxy S26 FE uses its larger size to accommodate a bigger display and battery.
Both phones carry an IP68 rating, so neither is lacking when it comes to basic water and dust resistance.
