The Expert Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has revealed its 2026-2027 awards for smartphones and audio devices. EISA member publications, each testing devices independently, selected the winners. Every awarded product was reviewed by at least five EISA member outlets.
The EISA Smartphone award went to a device recognized for its advanced camera system, high-quality display, flagship chipset, and long-lasting battery. Another model received the EISA Foldable Smartphone award, noted for its leading battery capacity, IP ratings, dual displays, and strong performance.
The EISA Photo & Video Smartphone award honored a device that EISA says "raises the bar for smartphone photography." Its innovative camera system stands out, making it a competitor to super-zoom cameras. EISA describes it as the best choice for photographers seeking range, image quality, and creative freedom in a smartphone.
The EISA AI Smartphone award went to a model with innovative AI features, including Now Brief and Now Nudge. Its AI-driven Photo Assist suite enables scene-level editing via voice and text prompts. The device also features the world's first built-in Privacy Display and machine-learning privacy alerts. EISA calls it a benchmark for proactive, secure, and context-aware AI in smartphones.
Samsung received the EISA In-Ear Headphones award for its latest model. The headphones are described as a well-rounded choice for high-fidelity listening. EISA praised their Enhanced Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and AI-powered Adaptive Noise Control, which analyzes surroundings to optimize noise levels. The Siren Detect feature allows emergency alerts to bypass ANC for safety. The headphones also deliver exceptionally clear call quality.
EISA awards are determined by votes from member publications, each using their own testing criteria. At least five member publications must review each device before it becomes eligible for an award. This process ensures a broad consensus and comprehensive evaluation of each product's features and performance.
