When folded, the display size could reduce to about 15.3 inches. Apple is reportedly working with display manufacturers to use ultra-thin glass technology, aiming to minimize creasing, a common issue in foldable devices.

The company has also explored integrating under-display Face ID technology. However, Gurman noted that the front panel may be too thin to house the full Face ID sensor array. Instead, Apple could use a small hole-punch camera rather than a Dynamic Island or visible notch. The device may include a lightweight carbon fibre kickstand, designed to improve usability for media viewing and productivity.
