Weave Robotics, a US-based startup, has announced the launch of Isaac 1, a home robot designed to automate repetitive household chores. The company, headquartered in San Francisco, has opened pre-orders for Isaac 1, which can autonomously tidy homes, fold laundry, and help keep living spaces organized.
Isaac 1 is built specifically for home use, unlike many humanoid robots intended for warehouses or factories. Weave Robotics focuses on two main household tasks: laundry and general tidying. Isaac 1 builds on the company’s earlier model, Isaac 0, a stationary laundry-folding robot. According to Weave, Isaac 0 has already operated for more than 2,000 hours with customers in California, folding over 1,000 pounds of laundry each week.
Isaac 1 uses two main features: Laundry Flow and Daily Reset. Laundry Flow manages the entire laundry process, from locating dirty clothes and picking them up to carrying hampers, folding clean laundry, and putting it away. The Daily Reset feature restores order around the house by making beds, arranging pillows and blankets, and returning items like toys and shoes to their proper places.
Isaac 1 is designed to work mostly autonomously. It can move around the house, navigate between rooms, and complete assigned chores without constant supervision. If the robot encounters a task it cannot handle, remote teleoperation assistance is available to ensure completion. Users can schedule chores or start them on demand using a companion smartphone app, whether they are at home or away.
The robot features a wheeled base instead of legs, two robotic arms, and a collapsible body that allows it to lower itself when not in use. Isaac 1 is covered in soft fabric shells for passive safety and is available in five color options: Sage, Gray, Slate Blue, Terracotta, and Vesper. This allows it to blend into various home interiors.
Isaac 1 offers an eight-hour battery life and requires around two hours to recharge. It connects via Wi-Fi and has a footprint of 20.5 by 22 inches. The robot’s height can adjust from 3 feet to 5 feet 9 inches, enabling it to reach shelves, beds, and laundry baskets. Weave Robotics designed the robot’s actuators, remote actuation system, and safety systems in-house at its San Francisco headquarters.
Weave Robotics has priced Isaac 1 at $7,999, which is approximately Rs 6.9 lakh at current exchange rates. Customers can also choose a $449-per-month subscription at the time of delivery. According to the company, Isaac 1 will begin shipping to customers in California in fall 2026. A broader rollout across the United States is planned for 2027.
